03 Sep 2010: Sachin Tendulkar is captain again with two more records as he was honoured the honorary Group Captain Indian Air Force (IAF) and the brand ambassador of Indian Air Force.
Sachin Tendulkar is captain once again! No, not of the Indian cricket team this time, but a honour which is more coveted and desired! Sachin Tendulkar Group Captain of Indian Air Force has now added a new laurel to his crown. Today, by the Indian Air Force, Sachin Tendulkar was conferred the honorary rank of Group Captain IAF as a recognition of his service to India in the cricket ground.

Back in January this year, Indian Air Force proposed to recognise Sachin Tendulkar with the Group Captain Indian Air Force and brand ambassador of Indian Air Force honours. On June 23, President Pratibha Patil had approved the conference of Group Captain Indian Air Force honour to Sachin Tendulkar and also acknowledged the proposal of making Sachin the brand ambassador of Indian Air Force. Before the actual felicitation with the honorary rank of Group Captain Indian Air Force, Sachin Tendulkar had undergone a familiarising session with the Indian Air Force (IAF). Before being the Group Captain Indian Air Force Sachin Tendulkar also practised some basic military drills. Being the Group Captain Indian Air Force Sachin Tendulkar was delighted.
